HAVERHILL: Constance E. “Connie” (Allard) DiFruscio, 78, died unexpectedly at her home, Tuesday, January 25, 2011. She was the wife of the late Dominic A. DiFruscio, Jr. who died in 1996.
Born in Haverhill on March 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Elizabeth (Hill) Allard. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School and was a member of the class yearbook committee. She also attended Merrimack College where she was crowned Prom Queen. Connie worked for several years as a clerk at the Pentucket Shoe Store in Haverhill. She also worked as an artist at Rogers Studio in Haverhill, specializing in colorizing black and white photos.
She was the youngest and original member of the Haverhill Artist’s Association. Connie had a flair for creativity and enjoyed many hobbies that displayed her talent and her eye for fashion. Among the hobbies she most enjoyed were crafts, jewelry making, and professional cake decorating. Being an artist she loved to paint portraits and pictures and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends. She also was a seamstress and liked to make her own clothing. Connie was known to love and wear big decorated hats. She also was an avid doll collector over the years and a dog lover. Her dogs “Teddy” and “Butchy" will always hold a special place in her heart.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Robert Hanagan, Jr. of Bradford, a son, David DiFruscio and a sister, Dorothy Conty both of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her niece, Deborah Conty.
