Obituary

George M. Loveless, a 48-year resident of Wakefield, formerly of Melrose, passed away Jan. 27, 2011. He was the beloved husband for 63 years of Patricia Ann (Foley) Loveless. Born in Medford, he was the son of the late George M. and Margaret (O’Neil) Loveless. He was raised and educated in Melrose, where he attended Melrose public schools. George was a graduate of Melrose High School and a 1952 graduate of Boston College. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Loveless was a radioman on the USS Speed minesweeper during WWII. George was employed as an insurance underwriter at Hooper Holmes in Burlington. In his spare time, George enjoyed playing golf at Mt. Hood, where he also worked as a starter, and was a member of the Harold O. Young VFW Post #2394 in Melrose. In addition to his wife Patricia, he is lovingly survived by his children: Michael Loveless and his wife Deborah of ME, Susan Lynch of Revere, Jack Loveless of Wakefield and the late Patricia Ann Loveless. He was also the dear grandpa of Michael, Kate, Kimberly, Colin, Michelle, Patrick, Kevin and great-grandpa of Jacob, Margaret Rose and Conor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend George’s Funeral on Tues. Feb. 1st at 9AM from the Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by his Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Interment Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8PM.
