SCHMUCKIE, SR, THEODORE WILLIAM, “PAPPAW”, was born on November 27, 1928 and entered Heaven January 27,2011.
He was a retired typesetter/printer with the Courier Journal where he worked for 26 years, a member of the Quarter Century Bowling Assn, and St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church.
He married the love of his life, Anna Lindauer Schmuckie on March 27, 1975. They retired and traveled frequently, while being extremely dedicated to their family and their church. Pappaw and Mammaw were reunited again when she moved to Summerfield nursing home over two years ago. We are very grateful to the staff for showing their “Teddy” so much love as was evident during the final chapter of his life, as well as the kindness and concern for his family during this very difficult time.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 35 years, Anna Lindauer Schmuckie, who passed away on January 23, 2011, his parents, his son, Theodore Schmuckie, Jr., stepdaughter, Cheri Gossman, and six siblings.
He is survived by his stepson, Rodney Lindauer (Marsha), stepdaughter, Sandy Foster; son-in-law, George Gossman; as well as his daughters, Terry Malcolm (John) and Carolyne Gardner (David); and daughter-in-law, June Schmuckie. He was loved and cherished by his grandchildren, Jason, Jamie (Angie), Brandie, Jessica (Drew) and Ashlee; and his adoring greatgrandchildren, Koty, Katie, Hannah, Dylan, Haylie, Caleb, Kendall, Delaney, Parker and Makenna. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shanna, Sandy, David,Jr., Rachel, Heather, Erin and Megan; his great grandchildren, Parker, Johnny, John, Helen, Jack, Kay’elah, Joseph, Delilah, Carolyn and Kendall. Additionally, he is survived by an abundance of other family members and friends who enriched his life and whom he loved and cherished.
A joint funeral Mass celebrated for both Theodore and Anna will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 South 6th Street, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
A joint visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
