Obituary

WORCESTER-Raymond E. Courville, 73, of Worcester, died Wednesday, January 26th in UMass Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Carole G. (Cutting) Courville; two sons, Douglas R. Courville and his wife Jennifer of Worcester and Daniel D. Courville and his wife Amy of Portsmouth, RI; his daughter, Deborah C. Carraher and her husband Joseph of Worcester; six grandchildren, Melinda Carraher and Samuel, Jacob, Ethan, Abigail and Gavin Courville; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Courville and his sister Barbara Reed.
Mr. Courville was born in Worcester, the son of Arthur F. and Mildred R. (Martin) Courville. He worked in quality control for 25 years at New England Plating, retiring in 2001. Mr. Courville was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church. Mr. Courville enjoyed spending the summers in Old Orchard Beach, ME. The family would like to thank Ray’s doctors, especially his niece Terri, the VNA, UMass EMS and the Park Avenue fire station for all of their assistance.
The funeral is Saturday, January 29th with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
