Wilson Earl Smith, age 57, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at his home in Walls, MS. Mr. Smith was born in Oakland, MS to the late Harrison Lester and Marantha Kennedy Smith. Wilson worked in the construction industry for most of his life. He was a hard worker who loved laying brick and enjoyed fishing. He attended the Second Baptist Church in Walls, MS.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Seven Oaks Funeral home with Bro. Raymond Aven officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland City Cemetery in Oakland, MS with his nephews serving as pallbearers.
He is survived by four sisters, Ilene Dees of Enid, MS, Christine Brown of Walbridge, OH, Mary Bunch of Walls, MS, and Pearl Boyles of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Lester “Red” Smith and James “Bud” Smith both of Water Valley, MS; one aunt, Pearl Thompson of Senatobia, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Johnson; and five brothers, J. H. Smith, Bill Smith, Bobby Smith, Chester Smith, and Delmer Smith.
