Mary Smith Davis, age 85, of 154 Melrose Drive, Danville, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Duke University Medical Center.
Born February 12, 1925 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Raymond Smith and Florence Puett Smith. Mrs. Davis worked in the cafeteria at Danville Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include three daughters: Brenda Minter Cobb and her husband Jim of Liberty, NC, Debbie Minter Bryant of Ringgold, and Rhonda Minter Adkins of Danville; four sons: Rodger Landon Minter and his wife Kitty of Hampstead, NC, Terry Neal Minter and his wife Jan, also of Hampstead, NC, Dennis Wade Minter and his wife Jackie of Danville, and Kevin Bartell Minter of Danville; one sister: Florine Smith Cassada of Drakes Branch, VA; and one brother: Vernon Smith of Chase City, VA; eleven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Smith, and by two sisters, Rebecca Pauline Smith and Annie Lee Smith Dix.
Funeral services officiated by Bishop Raymond Mullins will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Swicegood Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 28, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At other times, they will be at the residence, 154 Melrose Drive, Danville.
