Patricia R. (Campbell) Higgins, a resident of Medford for more than 45 years and beloved wife of the late Allan D. Higgins, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Wednesday morning, January 26, 2011. She was 88 years old.
Born in Bangor, Maine, Pat was the beloved daughter of the late James and Grace (Coakley) Campbell. She was a graduate of Fisher Junior College and had been employed for over 22 years as both a secretary and bookkeeper at Heffenreffer Brewery in Jamaica Plain. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed knitting crocheting and cooking. She mostly loved to bake cookies.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was also the loving mother of James A. Higgins and devoted sister of the late Gloria G. Burns.
Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, January 28, 2011, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial, celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Friday, January 28, 2011, at 11AM. Many relatives and friend were in attendance. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Church, 114 High Street, Medford, MA 02155.
