Ted Saad of Weston passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2011. He was 90 years old.
A proud graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ted was an accomplished and renowned electronics engineer. In the 1940’s Ted worked at M.I.T.’s Radiation Laboratories developing radar systems used during World War II. He would later establish Sage Laboratories in Natick, Mass. Ted was very involved with the IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He was one of the founders, Past Chairman, and served for many years as Historian of IEEE’s Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. Ted was the 1992 recipient of the Society's Microwave Career Award. He also served as a Board Member of the IEEE Foundation. Ted was co-founder and first Editor of The Microwave Journal.
Ted was the dear and devoted husband of the late “Fi” (Abdelnour). Beloved father of Karen Jeanne Saad and Janet Elaine Saad both of Weston. Loving brother of Salwa Hajar of Norwood, and the late Elaine Patsos and Mona Hadge. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ted’s Funeral Service was held January 29, 2011 at the First Parish Church in Weston.
