QUEENSBURY, NY: John "Jack" Bracken, 51, a resident of Queensbury, NY, formerly of Cochituate passed away on Friday January 21, 2011 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on October 5, 1959 in Framingham and was the son of the late Charles H. Bracken Jr. and Eileen M. (Keefe) Bracken.
He was employed at Glens Falls Hospital for 15 years as a Licensed Journeyman Electrician and obtained his license through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was a very proud, loving, caring and devoted father. Jack was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, playing golf, camping and spending time on Cape Cod. For his 50th birthday, Jack attended the Deutsche Bank PGA Tournament in Norton. For the past 23 years, Jack loved to participate in the Bracken Open, a family golf tournament.
He is survived by his loving girlfriend and sweetheart, Mary Brown of Queensbury, NY, his two cherished daughters; Nikki and Julia Bracken of Glens Falls, NY; his brothers and sisters; Peter K. Bracken and his wife Edith of Natick, Christine Bracken and her wife Rebecca Hallstrom of Framingham, Marie E. Bracken of Wayland, Paul Bracken of Framingham, Robert Bracken of Framingham, Edward Bracken of Framingham; nieces and nephews, Kevin P. Bracken and his wife Meg of Natick, Kelleigh Spadorcia and her husband Anthony of Norwood, Amy Beckler and her husband Russell of Newton; eight grandnieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jack also leaves behind the Brown family which he considered his extended family. His girlfriend Mary’s family members include her parents, Lester and Joyce Brown of Hartford, NY; brothers and sisters; Chris Jones and her husband Brian of Hartford, NY, Greg Brown and his wife Sue of Hartford, NY, Russell Brown and his wife Roberta of Argyle, NY, Terry Brown and his wife Carol of Queensbury, NY, John Brown and his wife Rubenia of Glens Falls, NY, Amy Yole and her husband Paul of South Glens Falls, NY, Martha Smith and her husband Patrick of Queensbury, NY, Jessica Townsend of Argyle, NY, Jane Dorrer and her husband Dan of Hebron, NY, Marvin and Al Day of Salem, NY, Kristine Magee and her husband Leroy of Glens Falls, NY along with several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Saturday January 29, 2011 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, Aviation Rd, Queensbury, NY.
Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call on Friday January 28, 2011 from
4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Qualer Rd., Queensbury, NY.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27) Cochituate.
