Jennie M. (Sarno) Giuggio died peacefully Sunday in the Winchester Hospital with her family at her side. She was 91.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Marino and the late Maria Sarno. Jennie worked as a bookkeeper at a small business on Boylston St, Boston in her earlier years. Later, she was more focused on raising and caring for her family. A Medford resident for nearly 60 years, Jennie was active at St. Raphael parish and belonged to the Senior Citizens Club. She loved life and enjoyed the company of family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Carmine Giuggio, Jennie leaves her children: Carmine Giuggio, Jr. and his wife Robin of NH, Joseph Giuggio of Medford, Jeannie Giuggio and her partner Rita Roberto of Topsfield, Camille Passatempo and her husband Steven of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Alesandra, Carmine III and Michael Giuggio, Steven and Jenna Passatempo. The dear sister of Ralph Sarno of Medford, she also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Jennie’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, January 28th at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with entombment in the family mausoleum at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
