Camille P. Lowney, 72, passed away on January 23rd, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Boston on November 23rd, 1938 to her parents Raymond and Melina (Maffeo) Penta. Camille was raised and educated in Medford and is a graduate of Medford High School. She has been a resident of Stoneham for the past 10 years and is a former resident of Bristol, Rhode Island. As a young woman, she worked at her parent’s family business “Napoli Bakery” in Medford. Camille had an artistic ability to design and decorate elaborate wedding cakes. She took that artistic ability and began working as a Florist at Harvard Florist in Medford. She also worked for Perry’s Florist and was the Head Florist at Almacs Grocery while living with her family in Bristol, Rhode Island for a period of 20 years. She enjoyed travel, visiting destinations such as Italy and Ireland with her family. Camille was also an avid bingo player. She is survived by her children; Mary Celona and her husband Stephen of Amesbury, John Lowney and his wife Kristen of Mystic, CT and Brendan Lowney and his wife Melissa of Milton; by her grandchildren James, Celia, Alyson, Sean, Rebecca and Henry; and by her siblings; Mary Scali of Stoneham, Phyllis Tortorella of Stoneham, Gloria Sussman of Ventnor, NJ and Patrick Penta of Ipswich. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Camille was predeceased by her husband Brendan C. Lowney. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday January 26th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday January 25th from 4-8 PM.
