Obituary

Michael Rossi, 85, died Friday evening, January 21, 2011 in Beverly Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Suntina "Tina" (Ciarciello) Rossi, with whom he shared fifty-two years of marriage.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Michael and Rachel (Marruzzi) Rossi. He served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
Mr. Rossi was employed for thirty-one years at Eastman Gelatine in Peabody, where he retired in 1984.
A longtime Danvers resident and a communicant of St. Richard Church, he was always willing to volunteer his time at the church or at St. Mary of the Annunciation School, where he also served as crossing guard for many years.
His family is grateful for the many friends and family who shared their dedicated love, care, and kindness to Mike after the loss of his wife.
He is survived by two sons, Fr. Joseph Rossi of St. Pius V Parish in Lynn and David Rossi and his wife Laura of Georgetown, two grandchildren, Michael and Catherine Rossi, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ann Newhall and Nancy Manning, and a brother, Sam Covino.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 9AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Monday in St. Richard Church from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Rossi's memory may be made to St. Richard Parish, 90 Forest St., Danvers, MA 01923 or St. Pius V Parish, 215 Maple St., Lynn, MA 01904.
