Derek D. "Jeff" Curry, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. He was 44 years old.
Derek was born in Boston on December 15, 1966 to Rita (Robinson) Haley and Robert Curry. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and Boston Public Schools. Derek had been working as a cook at the Harvard Club in Boston for the last 7 years and also worked as a cook for 10 years at the Ritz Carleton in Boston.
Derek is the beloved husband of Jean M. (Lenzi) Curry of Woburn. He is the devoted father of Jeff Curry of Charlestown, Tiffany Curry of Woburn and Paige Curry of Woburn. He is the loving son of Rita (Robinson) Haley and her late husband William Haley of Charlestown and Robert Curry of Medford. He is the devoted brother of Dana Curry and his wife Lynn of North Carolina. He is the loving uncle of Jack and Matthew Curry, Kristi and Karleigh. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Derek's Funeral on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours wiil be on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
