Karin (Ranney) Brady 76, of Franklin, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday January 19, 2011, where she resided with her husband of 57 years Robert “Bob” Brady.
Born in Boston, March 16, 1934 a daughter of the late Moses S. and Katrina (Hedman) Ranney, she was raised and educated in Natick and was a 1951 graduate of Natick High School. She attended Framingham Business College, and worked as a bank teller before marrying and settling in Franklin in 1960 to raise her family.
A talented seamstress, she worked at the Franklin Mill Store for 5 years and was a costume designer and treasurer for the former Franklin Singers. She was also a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program in Franklin, and was known for her generosity. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, watching all the local sports teams, and being a second mother to many young couples in the neighborhood.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 sons; Robert Scott and his companion Emily of East
Dennis, Steven and his fiancé Marianne of Franklin, Peter of Dedham, 2 daughters; Donna Stone and her husband Rodney and Cheryl Curley and her husband Douglas of Franklin, 4 grandchildren; Matthew, Kelly, Tiffany, and Cameron, 2 great grandchildren; Addison & Sean William and a brother Peter Ranney of Mt. Clemens, Michigan
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Sunday January 30, 2011 at 4:00PM in the First Universalist Society Church 262 Chestnut St. Franklin, Rev. Carol Rosine, pastor will officiate. Interment is private.
