DUDLEY - Stefan Bielawski, 92, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, after a brief illness. His wife of 54 years, Aniela (Kaczmarek) Bielawski died in 2001.
He leaves a son, Julian P. and his wife Shala Bielawski of San Antonio, TX; 2 daughters, Regina M. and her husband William G. Dietrich of Jacksonville, FL and Barbara M. and her husband Andrew J. Kozlowski of Dudley; 4 grandchildren, Catherine, Elisabeth and William Dietrich and Nathaniel Bielawski. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
He was born on August 4, 1918 in Lipniki, Wolyn, Poland, a son of Pawel and Julia (Zarczinska) Bielawski . He moved to the United States in 1949. He attended Worcester Trade School to receive his First Class Fireman’s License.
Mr. Bielawski was a stationary fireman with Reed & Prince Company in Worcester. He retired in 1982.
He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and its senior choir. He was a member of the PNA in Dudley and was part of the Choralines Dance Club in the 1950s. He enjoyed caring for his flower gardens and his extensive vegetable garden. He was an avid Red Sox fan.
The funeral will be held Monday, January 24, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 23, in the funeral home.
