Katherine (Burke) Milone, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, after succumbing to her battle with dementia.
Katherine was born on June 3, 1934 to Nicholas and Mary (Manolitsis) Perdis. Katherine attended the Lawrence Schools and in her early years was employed at Ludington Footwear and Oompies Shoe in Lawrence for 26 years as a shoe cutter. She later retired from New Balance Footwear, also in Lawrence.
Katherine was an avid bingo player who enjoyed playing the game with her sister Ann, and many friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, caring for her yard, card playing and crocheting, especially baby blankets, but her biggest enjoyment was from the frequent visits from her grandchildren, as well as from her nieces Janet Carnett and Marion Pelzcar. Proud of her Greek heritage, she could be found at many Greek outings leading the line dancers. We all loved her very much and she will be missed by all who knew her.
The wife of her beloved husband John J. Milone, who passed away in 2002, Mrs. Milone is survived by her loving son, Richard Burke and his wife Lucie; and grandchildren Skyler, Alex, and Eva all of Marblehead, MA, her stepson Steven Milone and his wife Deidra and her grandchild Christopher all of Methuen, MA, her sister Bessie Bedigian and her husband Haig of Watertown, MA, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Perdis, and by her sisters Nellie Carnett, Viola Day, Toula Dejonker, and Ann Sign
