Priscilla J. "Pat" (Fife) Bertocchi, a 16 year resident of Wakefield and a former 20 year resident of Mansfield, Connecticut, died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 79 years old.
Priscilla was born in South Berwick, Maine on October 1, 1931 to the late Lloyd M. and Evelyn M. (Cook) Fife. After graduating from Berwick Academy, she moved to the Boston area and was employed at the Boston Insurance Company where she met her future husband, Donald V. Bertocchi of Malden, Massachusetts. Then she later worked for the state of Connecticut with handicapped children. After retiring, she worked as a home health care provider. Pat was an expert bowler and enjoyed going to the theater with friends. She also loved the ocean and spent many summers in Maine and Connecticut. She traveled to places such as Hawaii, France, Jamaica and Nova Scotia where some of her ancestors arrived and settled from their native Scotland.
Priscilla is the devoted mother of Cheryl A. Bertocchi of Killingly, Connecticut and Donna Rodner and her husband Dean of West Peabody. She is the beloved sister of Edith Roberts of Springvale, Maine, Milton Fife and his wife Yvonne of South Berwick, Maine, Ronald Fife and Claire Fife of South Berwick, Maine and Allan Fife of Sanford, Maine. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation for Priscilla on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 12 Noon. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
