Nelson Page Hyler, Sr., age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 13, 2011.
Mr. Hyler was born in Danville, VA to Mr. Drewery Hyler, Sr. and Mrs. Myrtle Green Hyler. Since he was a boy, he grew tobacco. Mr. Hyler worked as a building contractor and a farmer. He loved to farm and raise animals. His grandchildren were his passion. He loved to build houses and work with machinery. He was married to Belwood Hyler, the love of his life going on 47 years.
He is predeceased by his loving parents, Drewery Hyler, Sr. and Mrs. Myrtle Green Hyler; a brother. Robert “Pete” Hyler; and two sisters Catheryne Mathes and Audrey Carmichael.
Mr. Hyler is survived by his loving wife, Belwood Hyler of Brosville; three daughters, Sheila Elliott, Donna Fitzgerald, and Beverly Busby of Danville; a son, Nelson Page Hyler, Jr.; a brother, Drew Hyler; seven wonderful grandchildren and four loving great-grandchildren of Danville.
Funeral services will be held at Swicegood Funeral Home Sunday, January 16, 2011 at two o’clock p.m. Services will be conducted by Minister Robert Hardy.
