Mr. John J. Leary, age 48 of Wakefield died suddenly on Tuesday in Woburn. He was the son of Jacqueline (Bozzi) Leary of Wakefield and the late John J. Leary. Stepson of John DiBenedetto of Wakefield.
John was born in Malden and spent his early years in Medford. He is a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School class of 1980. He enjoyed working out and bodybuilding as well as spending time with his nephew.
John was a talented cook and proficient in making pizza. He was the proprietor of the former Capri Pizza in Wakefield.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his first wife and longtime companion Deborah Leary of Salem, a son John J. Leary of Wakefield, a sister: Jacqueline M. Leary and nephew Jack Taylor both of Wakefield. He will be sadly missed by his faithful pet and companion “Buddy”
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in St. Joseph Church 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. At the request of the family, visiting hours are private. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
