FRANKLIN—Aquilino M.A. Bertone 86, of Franklin, died at Milford Regional Medical Center Friday January 14, 2011. He was the husband of Angiolina (Mucciarone) Bertone.
Born in Sant Angelo in Grotte, Italy February 15, 1924 a son of the late Salvatore and Maria L. (Bertone) Bertone, he lived in Franklin since 1966. He was raised and educated in Italy, and moved to Australia and then returned to Italy before coming to America.
Mr. Bertone retired from Wrentham State School, where he worked as a custodian for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin. Always well dressed, he enjoyed dancing, music and played the accordion. He was also well known for his wit and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Angiolina, whom he married in Australia on October 21, 1956, his daughter Maria Taddeo and her husband Elio of Franklin, 3 brothers Antonio of Italy, Michele and Ottavio Bertone of Franklin, a sister Rita Bertone of Franklin, his grandson Mark Taddeo, 3 first cousins; Angela Carlucci and Judith Mucciarone both of Franklin, Alex Bertone of Norfolk, and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Vito Bertone of Franklin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday January 18th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
