Hallie Frances Haymore Baker, 92, of 246 April Lane, Danville, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home where she had been a patient for 4 weeks.
Born in the Dry Fork area of Pittsylvania County on August 23, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William B. Haymore and Nora Johnson Haymore. On December 2, 1939, she was married to James Thurston Baker who predeceased her on June 1, 1992.
She had worked in the spinning room at Dan River, Inc., retiring after 35 years of service. Her family was her greatest love; she also enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking.
Mrs. Baker is survived by two daughters, Shirley Setliff and her husband, Ronnie, and Darlene Agnor; six grandchildren, Tammy McClanahan and her husband, Ricky, Ronnie Setliff, II and Nancy Bryant, Kim Coder and husband, Mike, Jennifer Pruitt and Bruce Hopson, Melissa Eatmon, and Charles James "C.J." Eatmon. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Katie McClanahan, Zachary McClanahan, Beth Ann Coder, Andrew Coder, Blake Hopson and Chance Lewis. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Ila Eanes and Dorothy Baker, and five brothers, Uray Haymore, Starley Haymore, Jack Haymore, Raymond Haymore and Raleigh Haymore.
Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel and at other times, will be at the home of her daughter, Shirley Setliff, at. 246 April Lane, Danville.
