Patricia E. Corey, 64, of Methuen died on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Methuen, Ma
She was employed with Blue Cross for 30 years, and her latest employment was a secretary at the Marsh Grammar School in Methuen.
She was extremely active at St Anthony's Parish in Lawrence MA, and devoted her time weekly with her prayer group.
She loved to travel around the world when ever the opportunity arose.
She loved the Red Sox ( Big Papi ) ,The Boston Pops , the Theatre , Singing to all her nieces and nephews and friends. You rarely saw her without a smile on her face and were always greeted with a hug or a pinch on both cheeks.
Her family was the most important factor in her life and she always made an added effort to make sure they were together, safe and happy.
Her family members include her nieces and nephews, Paul and his wife Eileen DeVeau of Merrimac, MA., Douglas and his wife Elizabeth DeVeau of Methuen, Richard DeVeau of Haverhill, MA, William DeVeau of Methuen, MA, Karen Machado of Methuen, MA, Anthony and his wife, Paula Corey of Methuen, MA, Christopher and his wife, Christa Corey of Danville, NH, Tammy Corey of Pennsylvania, Keith and his wife, Alexa Corey of Pennsylvania , Michelle and her husband, Kenneth Braithwaite of Baltimore,MD, Kyle Corey of Baltimore, MD, Christian Braithwaite of Baltimore, Jean and her husband, Jerry Page of California, Laura Harmes of California, Cory Rogers of California, Todd Rogers of California, Jeff Rogers of California and brother-in-law, Dave Rogers of California. Pat was pre-deceased by nephews, Norman DeVeau, Justin Corey and Raymond Corey.
Calling hours will be on Monday January 17, 2011 from 3 to 8 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday January 18 at 10:00 am in St Anthony Church, Lawrence. The burial will be in St Anthony Cemetery, Methuen. Memorial contributions may be made to St Anthony Church, 145 Amesbury St. Lawrence, Ma. 01841.
The Corey Family would like to thank the Kaplan Hospice in Danvers MA, and the Salem Hospital in Salem Ma for the special care they extended to her and her family.
