RUANE, James E., Sr.- Of Malden, January 13th. Devoted husband of Marie (Connelly). Beloved father of James E. Ruane, Jr. and his wife Thelma of San Diego, CA, Mary Ruane of Winthrop, Joseph Ruane and his wife Barbara of Atkinson, NH, Theresa Ruane of Amesbury, Thomas Ruane and his wife Cheryl of Tyngsboro and Christine Stefanovich and her husband Vladamir of Rochester, NY. Brother of Phyllis Terrio of Burlington and the late John, Sr. Julia Marie, Alfred, Robert, Richard, Frank, Eileen, Alice, Sr. Alicia and Paul. Lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Tuesday, January 18th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden. A lifelong resident of Malden and a United States Marine Corp. Veteran and survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima, James passed away at home early Thursday morning at the age of 85. After attending Boston University studying business and law, he worked for 30 for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General.
