Mrs. Evelyn Hundley, age 87, widow of the late Carlos Hundley, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on, January 13, 2011 at Village Care of King. She was born in Alkol County, West Virginia on February 23, 1923 to the late Charlie and Hermie King. She worked in Textiles and was a member of Jessup Grove Baptist Church and a member of the VFW Auxillary Club of Pilot Mountain. Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother to five sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry (Patty) King of W.VA, Ernest (Clara) Hundley of Mt. Airy, Steve Hundley of Westfield, Dale (Annette) Hundley of Pinnacle, Bo (Ginger) Hundley of Westfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Randy) Reddic of Pilot Mountain; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Dempsey King of Fla; three sisters, Juanita Mays of W.VA, Annie Pauley of W.VA and Wanda Mae Bledsoe of Asheville, NC. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Betty Jo Pauley. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Jessup Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M with the Bro. D.C. Collins, Rev. Roger Vaden and Pastor Gene Brinkley officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hundley will be placed at Jessup Grove Baptist Church on Monday, January 17, 2011 and will remain there until the hour of the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Surry County Hospice, 1326 North Main Street, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Surry County, the staff of Village Care in King and to Woltz Hospice Home.
