Obituary


Regina M. (Sullivan) McHugh age 87 of Brockton died Thursday January 13, 2011 at West Acres Nursing Home. Born in Boston a daughter of the late Edmond and Anne (Doran) Sullivan, she had been a resident of Brockton since 1958. She had also been a resident in East Bridgewater for eighteen years.
A graduate of the High School of Practical Arts in Roxbury, Regina had been employed by the former Zayre Department Store in Brockton. Previously she had worked as a sales person at Howard Clothing in Brockton for many years.

Regina was a talented and creative seamstress by vocation and sometimes by occupation. She also loved crafts and reading, particularly history and was continually on the local library wait list. She had been a long time communicant of St. Edward Church.

Regina is survived by her two daughters Judith Yager and her husband Ed and Maura Tanzi and her husband Sossio. She also leaves three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and god children. She was the sister of Bernadette Doucet of California and the late Edmond R. Sullivan, Jr., Estelle Dwyer and Anne “Dolly” Booth. She was the sister in law of the late Helen Sullivan, Don Booth and Roger Doucet.

Visiting hours are omitted and graveside services will be held in Melrose Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Regina’s name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation 29 Crafts Street Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458.
