David Charles Richardson, 55, of Derry, NH died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1955, in Derry, NH, a son of Gladys (Hoisington) Richardson and the late Harry Richardson. He was a life long resident of Derry. Dave was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry, Class of 1973 and later attended the University of New Hampshire. He worked as an interior house painter for many years and worked most recently in school custodial services. He enjoyed mountain trail hiking and camping. He also enjoyed exploring the history of Native Americans in New England and embraced the spirituality of Native American beliefs and customs. He collected artifacts of early American life in New England. Dave will be dearly missed by his family and by his long time friends.
He is survived by his mother of Derry, four sisters, Nancy Vakalis and her husband Harry of Boston, MA, Patricia Gibson and her husband Ray of Palm Harbor, FL, Barbara Prezioso and her husband Jerry of Narragansetts, RI, Suzan Tobin of Sacramento, CA, eight nieces and nephews, one great nephew,. Also survived by many cousins, aunts and one uncle.
There are no calling hours. Private memorial services will be held in the spring. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
