Obituary

James Joseph Booth II, 89, of Manchester, died January 11, 2011 at Haven Health Center at Seacoast in Hampton.
He was born in Manchester on May 9, 1921, the son of James J. and Julia (Sullivan) Booth. He attended Manchester High School Central and earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in the US Army during WWII.
Prior to retirement, Jim had been employed by the US Postal Service in New York State for 35 years. He was a longtime member and former president and treasurer of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees in New Hampshire.
He was predeceased by his wife of over 55 years Viola Booth in 2001.
He was also predeceased by his brother George Booth, sister-in-law Arlene Booth and most recently his daughter Deborah Booth.
Family members include two sons, Dennis Booth of Florida and James Booth III and his wife Laurie of North Hampton; five grandchildren, Jennifer Dunsworth, Anthony, James IV, Dennis Booth and Denise Donde; nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, January 17, 2011 in St. Augustin Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St, Bedford.
