Salem: Gerard J. LeBlanc age 93 of Salem, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem. He was the beloved husband of Marie Laure J. ‘Laura’ (Ouellette) LeBlanc, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Edmond and Emma (Charron) LeBlanc. For over 30 years Jerry worked as a machinist at the Boston Naval Shipyard. He retired from the shipyard in 1968.
A deeply religious man, Jerry was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish and of the St. Joseph Prayer Community. He was also a former member of the Richelieu Club of Salem and the Mantle Club.
In addition to his wife Laura, he is survived by a daughter, Constance M. Claveau and her husband George of Salem, 3 grandchildren, Gerard Claveau and his wife Ellen of Salem, David Claveau and his wife Stephanie of Georgetown, and Julie Cummings of Lynn. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Carolyn & Samantha Claveau, Jacqueline & Isabel Claveau and Heather & Jacob Cummings as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was brother of the late Hector and Hermas LeBlanc, and was predeceased by his granddaughter's husband, James Cummings.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 9 a.m. to be followed by his funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 10 a.m.
