Lynn: Raymond N. Duchesne age 81 of Lynn and formerly of Salem, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a long illness. He was the husband of Jeannette A. (Michaud) Duchesne, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.
Born in Canada and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Antoinette (Laliberte) Duchesne. Ray joined the Army at a young age and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Following his tour of duty, he returned to Salem and first worked as a guard at the Salem Jail. He worked most of his life in the leather industry for the former Richard Tannery of Salem. He retired in 1991.
In addition to his wife Jeannette, he is survived by two step daughters, Debra Romeo of Malden and Tina Burbine of Salem, a foster son, Stanley Cohen of Lynn, two sisters, Alice Armstrong and Diana Duchesne both of Salem and a brother, Roger Duchesne of New Hampshire. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. Visiting hours: Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
