Rita A. Lumbra, 76, formerly of 44 Ladd Hill Rd., Belmont died December 28, 2003 in the Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach FL after a brief illness. She was the widow of Raymond G. Lumbra, who died in September 2000.
She was born in Belmont on November 28, 1927, the daughter of Louis H. and Adeline M. (Morin) Hueber and lived in Belmont all of her life until she relocated to Laconia within the past year.
Mrs. Lumbra was a devoted homemaker and at one time had been a sales clerk at Sawyer’s Jewelry for several years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia.
An avid gardener, she was well known for her rose gardens and took special pride in caring for her home and property.
Family members include a brother, Maurice Hueber of Belmont and several nieces and nephews, among them, Rachel M. Normandin of Laconia and Lorraine Noel of Belmont.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St. Saturday at 11 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps was the celebrant. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
