CAPLINGER, VALERIE ANN (WORTHAM), passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 with her loving husband at her side.
Valerie was born in Grayson Co., Ky on June 29, 1950. She was a graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High School. Valerie retired in 1992 from many years in the insurance industry. She devoted her life to her loving husband, her two sons, and to the home they made together.
Valerie loved nothing more than sitting on the front porch swing of her Pine Knob, Ky. home, surrounded by her friends, family, flowers and music.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Kendall B. Wortham and Christeen Fentress.
She is survived by her husband, William R. “Bobby” Caplinger; her two sons, Joshua S. Caplinger and Jared S. Caplinger; her sister, Beverly Tucker; her loving stepmother, Barbara Wortham; her loving father-in-law and mother-in-law George David and Anna Mae Caplinger; and a large and loving extended family.
Visitation will be from 1 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CST Wednesday at the Dermitt Funeral Home, Caneyville, KY., with the funeral at 2:00 p.m. CST. Burial at the McCandless Cemetery to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ky. School for the Blind Charitable Foundation.
