Obituary

David Leet Deibel, age 79, of 3 Anchorage Circle, Mumford Cove, Groton, died Monday at his home.

He was born on Barberton, OH on March 17, 1924 the son of Leet and Francis (Huffman) Deibel. He was a 1941 graduate of Creighton Prep in Omaha, Nebraska and was a 1950 graduate of the Case Institute of Case western Reserve University .

David served in the US Army Airforce during World War II. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the Air Corps March 3, 1943 at Miami Beach, OCS and was medically relieved of active duty in July, 1946 ending four years of active duty.

He was employed as a Mechanical and Thermodynamic Engineer at TRW, Discover Satellite and LEM descent Module, Harris Corp. He also developed complete lines of presses for newspapers as Owner of Intercorp Ltd. And Presstech Corp. where he manufactured many innovative items for printing companies and the medical field.

He was a member of the Royal Sirforce Club in England and the American Rocket Society. He was also an avid pilot and traveler, and enjoyed astronomy, Trains, and Reading. David was also a published author of Triad of Treason, published in 1979.

He was married to Debra (Hill) Deibel in Mumford Cove on July 13, 1977. He is survived by his brother Edward Deibel and his wife Janet of Hudson, OH, brother James Deibel and wife Lori of Bay Village, OH, and brother Mike Deibel of Mentor, OH, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister Annette Deibel.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at the United Congregational Church of Westerly and Pawcatuck, 90 Castle Hill Road, Pawcatuck on Saturday at 11am. A Gathering will immediately follow the service at Shelter Harbor Inn in Westerly. There are no visiting hours. Private burial will be in Chestnut Hill cemetery, Doylestown OH.
