Betty Ross, 62, of Ocilla, died Monday, December 29, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla with Rev. Huey Nichols and Rev. Charles Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 PM, on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ross was born, July 31, 1941 in Tift County, Georgia to the late Jesse W. Smith and Ruth Soles Smith Mixon and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph “Billy” Ross. Mrs. Ross was an employee of Modern Fibers in Fitzgerald, former employee of Tice Yarn and also Irwin County Elementary School. She lived in Irwin County most all her life and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: 2 Sons; Ralph Ross, Fitzgerald, and Kyle Ross, Ocilla, 3 Daughters; Teresa Lanier, Rochelle, Melanie Drawdy, Ty Ty, and Carla Ross, Ocilla. 8 Grand Children and 4 Great Grand Children. 3 brothers: Lloyd Smith and Johnny Smith both of Leesburg, FL and Ernest Smith, Madison, FL; one Sister; Martha Boling, Enigma, GA.
