Mullins Jr.

Arthur Dyer Mullins Jr., 62, of 128 Park Avenue, died at his residence on Friday, January 7, 2011.

Born in Richlands on August 8, 1948, he was the son of Arthur D. Mullins Sr. and Nancy Catherine Dameron Mullins, both living, of Danville. He lived most of his life in the Danville area where he was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church, and also a member of Poquoson Tribe of Red Men #124.

He retired after becoming disabled. He was married to Mitzi Smith Mullins, who survives him, of the home.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by one step-daughter, Holly Needy, of Roanoke, one sister, Katrina Searcey of Greenville, N.C., one niece, Christine Searcey, and one nephew, Brandon Searcey. He was predeceased by one sister, Benita Mullins.

Funeral services for

Mr. Mullins will be held Monday, January 10, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Moffett Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 9, 2011, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel, 2025 N. Main St., and at other times at the home of his parents, Arthur and Nancy Mullins, at 414 Brentwood Drive.
