Bernadette M. “Sue” Gariepy, 57, of Main St., Woonsocket, died Wednesday, December 15th, 2010 at home.
She was the daughter of Jeannine (Durocher) Belliveau of Woonsocket, and the late Armand Gariepy. She was born at the Naval Air Station at Quonset Point while her father was in the service.
Sue was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life and was a member of the ARC of Northern Rhode Island. In the face of her lifelong struggle with polio she always maintained her independence and saw the beauty of life in everyday occurrences. She particularly enjoyed her vast assortment of collectibles she proudly displayed in her home.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Marc H. Belleveau, and his wife Donna, of Smithfield, and a sister, Priscilla Dugas of Blackstone. She was the step-daughter of the late Henry Belliveau.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 6:00-7:00 pm prior to the service.
