Fremont, New Hampshire – John D. Lavertue, 41, died Wednesday January 5, 2011at the family residence.
John was born in Lawrence July 6, 1969 and he received his education there. He was the son of Donald R. and Mary Ellen (McPhee) Lavertue. While working he had been a proud truck driver working for several companies the last being Haffner’s Oil Company in South Lawrence.
John was a communicant of Saint Annes Church in Hampstead, NH, and served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
He was a member of MBUA Mens Baseball Umpires Association, loved to play Texas Hold’em , and liked to bowl. In Lowell John was a part of RARA Retarded Adult Rehabilitation Association. Survivors include his wife of 10 years Karen (Grandmaison) Lavertue, 4 beloved children: Michael P. and Jaina M. Lavertue as well as Danielle and Bridgette, 4 brothers; Joseph and wife Frances, James and his wife Lisa, Matthew and Thomas Lavertue, 1 sister Donna Marie Lavertue, and his mother- inlaw and father- inlaw Mary Jean and Rosaire Grandmaisson, his brother-inlaw David Grandmaisson and sister-inlaw and her husband Tina and Nick McKelvey and many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his baby daughter of a year ago Lauren Paige Lavertue.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/Saint Theresa Church 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen with interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 1:00-3:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
