MYRLE F. DERBYSHIRE, SR., of Hingham, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7th, 2011 at the South Shore Skilled Care Center in Rockland. He was 92. Mr. Derbyshire was born in Dorchester, raised in Weymouth and has been a Hingham resident for over 70 years. He was well known on the South Shore as the owner of the Hingham Shellfish Co. In addition, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hingham and Old Colony Masonic Lodge also in Hingham.
He was the husband of the late Mary R. (Fasci) Derbyshire; and father of, Myrle F. Derbyshire, Jr. and his wife Judy of Hingham, Heidi L. Derbyshire of Quincy, Karen M. Pelrin and her husband Tom of Hingham and the late Sandra J. Messina. Brother of Bernice Cinquegrano and Leonard Derbyshire both of Hingham, Maxine Maynard of Morristown, NJ, Shirley Smart of Bellingham, MA and the late Donald C. Jones. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 14th at 10 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 11th from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 85 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043.
