TEWKSBURY - Wilfred J. "Fred" Martell Jr., age 70, a lifelong Tewksbury resident, died Friday morning, January 7, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell following an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Billerica, June 27, 1940, a son of the late Wilfred J. Sr., and Gertrude (Stevens) Martell. He was employed as an asbestos installer for Asbestos Workers Union, Local 6.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Martell of Chelmsford and Steven Martell of Ayer; a granddaughter, Heather Martell of NH; two sisters, Jean Love of Tewksbury and Gloria Collins of Hobe Sound, FL; four nieces and nephews, Doreen Love of Billerica, Robert Love of VT, Joanne Collins of Stuart, FL, Scott Collins of OK; and many grand nieces and grand nephews.
A Graveside Memorial Service was held Friday, Jan. 14, in the Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials contributions in Fred's name to the Tewksbury Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Rd., Tewksbury, MA 01876, will be appreciated.
