Isabel G. (Lavery) Carpenter, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. She was 85 years old.Mrs. Carpenter was born in Boston on August 31, 1918 a daughter, to the late Thomas A. and Mary (Lyman) Lavery. Raised in Somerville, Isabel then resided in Medford for over 49 years and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and active in the St. Francis Mother’s Club.She was the beloved wife of Irving J. Carpenter of Medford. Loving mother of Maureen I. and her husband John F. Sheldon of Phoenix, Arizona, Stephen J. Carpenter of Medford, Judith A. and her husband Victor J. Capone of Melrose and Jean M. Manzi. Dear sister of Thomas Lavery and Paula Leslie, both of Revere and the late William Lavery, Helen Marston, Patricia McKenna, Edna Murphy, Charley Lavery and Claire Giancola. Cherished grandmother of Jason, Jill, Michael and the late Karen. Great-grandmother of Meagan and Katie.Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, December 27th, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours, Friday, December 26th, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
