Worcester - Philip A. Harrington, 70, passed away peacefully at home with family at his side, Wednesday, January 5, 2011. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth (Gulbicki) Harrington; a son and three daughters, Deborah Harrington, Patricia Polk, Thomas Harrington and his wife Nadine, and Jody Rodriguez and her husband Junior; three sisters, Gail McCarthy, April Duval, and Joy Harrington; 20 grandchildren: Shannon, Victoria, Gordon, William, Sean, David, Tabitha, William, Katie, Thomas Jr., Christina, Ashley, Tia, Jessica, Cassie, Keith, Emily, Jonathan, Anthony, and Franky and 13 great-grandchildren: Angelo, Joevanie, Shyana, Jahdais, Laniya, Siana, Joewnell, Jelyssa, Nylie, Serenity, Aalyia, Tyler, and Madison. His sister Shirley Cote died 16 years ago, January 5, 1995. He was also predeceased by his stepmother who he considered his mom, Eleanor Harrington.
He was born in Easton, Maine, son of Arnold R. and Freda M. (Hartsgrove) Harrington. He served in the U.S. Army and drove trucks for Ken Perro and Waste Management. He had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Phil enjoyed spending time with his family, playing bingo and poker, and watching sports. He also loved his pet cat "Charlie" and his parrot "P.J."

Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. followed by the service at 8:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Summit Elder Care, 277 E. Mountain St Worcester MA 01606.
