Judith C. (Barros) Britto, 92, of New Bedford died Friday December 31, 2010 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Carlos and Autilia (Carvalho) Barros, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was member of Haven Baptist Church.
Mrs. Britto was formerly employed as a seamstress.
She was a former member of the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Auxiliary and the Cape Verdean Ultramarine Band Club. She was the former president of the Bedford Towers Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, Anthony P. Britto and his wife Leslie of Fort Washington, MD; her siblings, Carlos Barros, Jr., Aguinaldo "Gigi" Barros, Emma Dias, and Cecelia Barros, all of New Haven, CT, John Barros of Michigan, Alda Radcliffe of Hartford, CT, and Theresa Carvalho of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Kareem Britto of Hartford, CT and Kristen Loffeten of Denmark; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Benjamin Britto, Jr. and the sister of the late Antone "Chickie" Barros and Grace Lopes.
