Barbara Spivey Caves, age 62, Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Caves was born on June 6, 1947 to the late Lonnie and Wynelle Smith Spivey in Douglas, GA. Mrs. Caves was preceded in death by a sister: Judy Vaugh. She was employed by Lillie’s Café as a food preparer and The Catfish House as a cashier; she was a member of St. Illa Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Illa Baptist Church with burial following the St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include: husband: Glenn Caves, Douglas, GA; daughter: Kim (Scott) Miller; son: Lamar (Kim) Caves, both of Nicholls, GA; sister: Sandra (David) Lott, Douglas, GA, Linda Daniel, Willacoochee, Ga; brothers: Keith (Lisa Spivey, Randy (Candy) Spivey, both of Ambrose, GA; Gary (Carolyn) Spivey, Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Logan Miller, Landyn Miller, Walker Caves, Anna Grace Caves and Ava Caves. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
