Woodlawn, TN, died Thursday, January 6, 2011, at SCH of Erin. The funeral will be held at 2 PM Saturday January 08, 2011 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother David Steppee and James Green officiating. Burial will be in Wilee's Chapel Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. G.C. was born on March 24, 1916 in Stewart County to the late Frank Waynick and Fannie Q. Bryant Waynick. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Glen Waynick, Thomas Allen Waynick, Fred Waynick, Roy Waynick, and Skyler Waynick, and a sister; Myrtle Bowers. He was a WWII veteran with the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife; Glendale Sample Waynick of Woodlawn, TN, three sons; George (Beverly) Waynick, Jr. of Indian Mound, TN, Thomas (Debbie) Waynick of Palmyra, TN, and Larry (Eva) Waynick of Clarksville, two daughters; Minerva (Lucian) Wyatt of Palmyra, TN and Brenda Poole of Clarksville, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matt Reed, Terry Bowers, Wayne Bowers, Jackie Waynick, Teddy McGovern, and Bobby Waynick.
