In Taunton, January 5, 2011 Elizabeth A. (Conway) Hackett wife of the late James K. Hackett died at Taunton Nursing Home at the age of 88. Born and educated in Taunton, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Robert and Jennie (Willette) Conway. She and her husband were proprietors of Hackett Poultry Farm for many years in North Taunton where they also raised steers and horses. She was co-owner of the Farm Boutique Gift Shop which began at their farm and later moved to downtown Taunton. In later years, she assisted her son and family at the Hackett Greenhouses where she developed her love of horticulture. Elizabeth was the mother of James (Bob) Hackett and his wife Christine, Lee Hackett and his wife Donna and Scott Hackett all of Taunton. Grandmother of Kim, Michael, Christopher, Sarah, Lindsey, Timothy, Daniel and seven great grandchildren. Sister of Janet Milka, Dorothy Lucke, Elaine Perry all of Taunton and the late Virginia Menard, Eileen Kingsbury, Robert, James, Thomas, Edward, Roger, Francis, John, Richard and William Conway. She also was the long time companion of the late George Sylvia. A special thank you to the staff of the Taunton Nursing Home where she resided for the past year. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Friday, January 7th from 11-12:30 pm. A service will be held at 12:30 after the calling hours.
