New Bedford-Jacinto D. Camara age 87 years died Monday January 3, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Margarida (Medeiros) Camara of South Dartmouth and the late Maria Elvira Camara. He was the father of Fernando Pailino husband of Natalia of New Bedford, Maria Benevides wife of Gus of Dartmouth, Francelino “Frank” Camara husband of Lina of Dartmouth, John Camara husband Michelle of Cranston RI., and James Camara husband of Claudia of Acushnet. He was the brother of Maria Augusta Walsh of New Bedford, Maria Eduarda Alves of Dartmouth and the late Jose Camara. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Camara was a son of the late Maria Lourdes (Costa) and Thomas Camara. Jacinto was born in Ribeira Grande, São Miguel Açores, Portugal, and lived in the area since 1969. Mr. Camara was employed as a lumper at Tichon Seafood
Mr. Camara’s Funeral Services will be Thursday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:30 A.M. Everyone to meet at funeral home for 8; A.M. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and Friends are invited.
