Christopher J. Souza, 38 years old, a resident of Grafton, formerly of Lowell, died December 28 in Grafton following a long time illness.
Born on December 24, 1972 in Lowell, he was the beloved son of Francis J. and Deborah L. (Vidito) Souza of Lowell who survive him. Chris was a graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School and the State Police Academy in New Braintree, Ma. He also attended the Worcester Police Academy.
Mr. Souza moved to the Worcester area sixteen years ago from Lowell and worked as a Sergeant for the Worcester Housing Police Department. He then worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Police Officer at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. Chris was an avid reader, a self taught guitar player who loved rock music and loved fishing.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by a son, Jeffrey Souza of Webster, MA; two daughters, McKaelynn Souza of Webster, Ma and Jaidyn Souza of Worcester, MA; a brother, Jack Souza of Lowell; his aunts and uncles, James and Janice (Vidito) Souza, Martin and Marianne Conlin and Teresa Norton; his former wife, Karen Greenwood of Webster; a dear companion, Karen Charbonneau of Worcester and several cousins.
SOUZA- Relatives and friends may call for his Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 5 from 6 until 8 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST (Rte.38) LOWELL. Everyone is asked to gather Thursday, Jan. 6 for his Memorial Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Church followed by burial in Westlawn II Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Founders Affiliate, P.O.Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241. Arrangements are by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LOWELL
