Johanna G. (Vanderpot) Beal, a resident of Melrose for many years, and Seebrook, New Hampshire, died on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at The Atria Longmeadow in Burlington following an extended illness. She was 97 years old.
Johanna was born in Boston on May 1, 1913 to the late John and Adriana (VanBeusekom) Vanderpot. She grew up in Revere where she attended Revere Public Schools. Johanna worked for many years as a stitcher in several clothing factories and then became a dress fitter for many years with Jordan Marsh Company.
Johanna is the beloved wife of the late William H. Beal. She is the devoted mother of Betty Ann Knowles of Burlington, William A. Beal of Rockland, Robert H. Beal of Portland, Maine, and the late Nancy Jean Beal. She is the loving Grandmother of 5 grandchildren, the late Joanne L. Rose, and her 5 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Leonard Vanderpot of New York and the late John Vanderpot.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Johanna's Memorial Service to celebrate her life on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose. Her burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose was private.
