Gertrude A. Grady, 98, formerly of Malden and Revere passed away peacefully on January 1, 2011 at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott. Gertrude was one of a kind - a woman of enormous intelligence, kindness of spirit, grace and style. She led a remarkable life dedicated to her family, friends and students. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and Regis College and also received a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard University. She enjoyed a 40 year teaching career at the McKinley School in Revere and was an outstanding educator and administrator. Gertrude was beloved by her devoted friend Mary Roche; her adopted granddaughters, Attorney Marie Roche and Doctor Barbara Roche; great graddaughter Julia Roche; beloved cousin Robert Grady; and many friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Grady and by her sister Helen Grady. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday Jan. 5th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Wednesday only.
