TEWKSBURY - Mary S. (Iwanowski) Campbell, age 96, a resident of the Pines assisted living community in Tewksbury, died unexpectedly on Sunday morning, January 2, 2011 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell following a brief illness, just seven days before her 97th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Campbell.
She was born in South Boston, January 9, 1914, the daughter of the late Paul and Sophie (Jankowski) Iwanowski. She lived in North Reading the greater part of her life where she was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church. She worked as a private seamstress, stitcher and home decorator for many long time clients. She was also well known for her gardening skills and meticulous landscape designs.
She is survived by a niece, Marlene Robertson of FL; a niece through marriage, Louise Iwanowski of Tewksbury; several grand nieces and nephews; numerous great and great great grand nieces and nephews; and her many dear friends and acquaintances from the Pines at Tewksbury.
She was also sister of the late Theodore Iwanowski Sr.; and aunt of the late Theodore Iwanowski Jr.
Her Funeral Mass was celebtrated Thursday, Jan. 6, in St. Dorothy's Church, Wilmington. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, N. Reading.
