Harvey W. “Bud” Bacon, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved husband of the late Penelope (Fillios) died at the LifeCare Center in Stoneham on Tuesday morning, December 28, 2010. He was 85 years old.
Born in Medford, on May 30, 1925, he was the beloved son of the late Walter E. and Grace (Whitcomb) Bacon. Bud was a WWII Army veteran. He was an Electrical Engineer, working for more than 40 years for Boston Transformer. Harvey was a very kind and generous person and always enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He was also an active Mason for many years.
He will be missed by his loving step-children; Georgeine Davis of Oviedo, Florida, and Chris and Tom Fillios, both of Medford, sisters; Lois I. Cavanaugh, Alice E. Velten and Irene L. Cain, all of Stoneham and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visitation was prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM. His Interment service was held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Monday, January 3, 2011, at 2 PM.
